And so it begins, the start of my blog again. I've slightly changed up my website, just so it's a little simpler, considering where I'm gonna be for the next few years (some of you know, some of you don't; it doesn't really matter though).
But long story short, I need to revamp my body again. Why? Well, I've been building up my body for the past year, as seen by my Facebook post a while ago, but I've also gained some unnecessary weight as well, and where I'm going, that weights literally gonna weight me down and make things harder for me. I've also...been slacking off the past few weeks because of a slight shoulder tweak that makes it a little difficult to do pushups, but is hopefully healed by now.
But, I'm posting this in case anyone's interested in seeing what I'm up to, and maybe wanted to get some ideas. This is basically the culmination of my fitness exploration this past year or so anyway. So anyway, here are my goals until October:
- Increase cardiovascular strength
- Increase muscular strength
- Lose fat/tone up
Some of you may be aware that it would be hell to try and do all of these things at once. I would say the big goal for anyone in fitness is really these four things, but I'm gonna see what I can do for the next two and a half months. I think its possible though. You also might notice that I put them in a particular order, and that's on purpose. It's in order of importance, and the reasons are because of what I wanna accomplish, and that's having more of an athletic body to work with.
Here's how I'm gonna accomplish this. For cardiovascular strength, I'm going to be doing cardio twice a day, "every day" (except my heavy workout day, which looks to be Monday). I've done it before, and its worked so I'm gonna keep doing it. FYI, cardio means anything for a sustained 30 minutes, including walking. I'll throw in some HIIT in there as well.
I'll be doing the same routine I've been doing the past year, which has worked for me. It focuses on hypertrophy of the muscles, and is a body building program, but I found its a lot more balanced than something like Starting Strength. Personal preference I guess.
And for the fat loss, I'm going to be cutting calories, and introducing Intermittent Fasting, which is honestly a great way to cut calories and not feel it as much. Much easier to manage my hunger when I set it to certain hours. Of course, I'm at home right now, so the issue is that I never know what my mom is making for dinner, but I think I'll manage.
Some of you might be saying, "But Fabian, you can't build muscle while you cut calories, that doesn't make sense!" Because I've been out of the gym for a while, I hypothesize that I'll experience some nice "noob gains." Not only that, I plan on having a high protein diet that will supplement. Also, this is more of an experiment for me to see if I can indeed do both at the same time, so tune in to find out.
Long post aside, I hope people will tune in. As I may have said before in the past, the writing of this blog is not really for other people, but for me to keep myself accountable. Someone once said "I don't work out for you, I work out for me."
